The cell phone was an amazing invention. Suddenly, we were able to connect with almost anyone at anytime. The business world opened up, with less travel and more conferences via satellite. Families could easily chat with one another, with less cost, and greater distance. The transformation to fast communication was utterly astounding and quick. In no time, we all owned cell phones at almost every age. The phenomonem was quite hurried and striking. Quite soon thereafter, we were emailing, texting, and accessing the internet through our various phones.
No doubt, the world changed. No doubt, the cell phone became a part of our every day lives. But, within all their usefulness, and communicative delivery, they have also become an interference in every day living. They have become and appendage to our fingertips. They have become an utter need, much like drinking water. They have become something in which we cannot live without.
Here is the problem....human contact, voice inflection, and regular conversations are being replaced by small screens and hyphenated words. People cannot commit to shopping, eating, or visiting without the interruption of a cell phone. We are grasping at, looking down at, or typing on our black box.
The point is this... I don't want to hear you gossiping on your phone while I shop. I don't need to listen to you babble on about your neighbor, your stocks, or the teacher who gave your kid a bad grade. I do not want to have lunch with you while you spend half of your time reviewing your messages. I am not interested in the score of your child's game, or the blow by blow innings from the person who happens to be watching. I prefer not to hear your phone ringing while at church for a mere hour. And, I would rather you stop at the red light, instead of chatting into your hand.
The fact remains that much of our cell phone conversations are not truly necessary at the moment. A great amount of texting is meaningless information which can be discussed normally at a later time. If we were all honest with ourselves, we would realize that we utilize our phones excessively. More importantly, we are losing contact with real people in real life. We used to be able to "read" someone's eyes to get a certain point of view. We once understood that hand movements might add to a discussion. We could clearly feel the presence of another while conversing. Reactions were better understood and more meaningful. Simply put, the human to human contact gave off more than mere words.
Technology is a grand thing! And, the modern world is filled with advancements which alleviate certain struggles. The cell phone invention has aided each one of us in quick connectivity. But, we must remember that we are not self important every second of the day. Clearly we can admit that most of our texting and phone conversations do not have to be so immediate. We can choose to chat for an hour with people across the table without grasping for a message. We can surely get through part of our day without needless gossip and soccer scores. Afterall, people were meant to sit together in order to laugh, talk, and learn from one another. The cell phone is beginning to undermine the purpose and the real meaning behind being human.
Our Nation
It is 2011 and still America is honored as the most free nation in the world. Inevitably, times are changing and Our Nation is beginning to see greater government control. Some of these new and established laws seem quite logical while others seem less reasonable. As a born and raised citizen of this great country, I feel it is important to raise the issues that have developed in modern day America.

MSNBC.....the Civil Media Station
What a surprise! No need to be shocked. Civility, as we know, is a key component for MSNBC. They understand the definition clearly. The video is clear. Ed Schultz, MSNBC employee, libtalker, and thoughtful thinker, exhuded top notch class on tuesday, as he called Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut." Not to worry, he apologized and decided his own punishment...a one week suspension from the show. If this man had been a conservative talk show host, no doubt, he would be fired! No doubt, the other media, would grab on to the story and scream for RESIGNATION. It would be headline news, and breaking news. However, those in the liberal media get a pass. And those who follow the liberal media make excuses and turn their heads. Mr. Schultz will be back in business in no time after his weeks' vacation at home. His nasty commentary will be swept under the rug, and he will continue to spew out hate. Apparently the liberal media is above the law when it comes to civility and decency!

Basic Government Control
You know what? I have certainly decided this today. The judges win, the under cover cops win, the ticket control administration employees win, the traffic police win, and so do the cameras. Big Brother is watching our every move.....don't even dare to plead your case....or you will be fined greater than your sin. Pull out your rug and bow down to the authorities....ring the bell....put the scarlet "A" on your forehead. Then, simply hurry home, stay there, and never venture outside....because THEY will surely find a way to find you! Don't you just love government control?

Many College Professors lack Decency when it comes to our Soldiers.
Several weeks ago, I met a young man, who had recently returned from Iraq. He was a bartender at a local restaurant, friendly, and quite talkative. I thanked him for his service as a marine, and he proudly told me that it was an honor to serve this great country. After some time, he explained that he was attending the local university, working many long hours both at school and in his job. He was definately the sort of young man, you would want to in line to protect you! Beyond his "soldier" strength, he was smart, and very polite. Thus, our conversation continued and we discussed his coursework at the university. He was eager to get an education but he was disgruntled with some professors. When I asked him what the issue was, he went on to explain the situations which he had been confronted with. Apparently there are professors, who have no problem, even in the classroom room, spewing out their hateful rhetoric against our military and war. Apparently, they think so little of the great men and women who serve this nation, that they make outright condescending remarks about our soldiers. This former marine was quite shocked by their lack of decency toward him. Of course, I wasn't surprised. Most college professors who sit in their sheltered enclaves, lean left. But what they don't understand as they stand atop their podiums, pondering life, opining their views, and probably not teaching what they ought to be teaching....is that they can FREELY do so because of the American soldiers, past and present, who sacrifice their lives for this country. It is a shame that their intelligent brains, couldn't tell their loud mouths to be respectful of those who have earned that right! Integrity, honor, and manners can go a really long way, especially to those who are most deserving of that credit!

From Isreal to Ireland....President Obama sets his Priorities!
Yesterday, President Barack Obama stood on stage, his usual post, and essentially debased our nation's longtime ally, Isreal. Obama seemingly endorsed a key Palestinian demand for the borders of their future state be based on the borders pre dating 1967. In 2004, both of Congress of these United States committed to Isreal not having to withdraw to the 1967 lines which are both indefensible and which could leave major Isreali populations beyond those lines. But, Obama, our great leader makes decisions on his own, without key thought to past American promises, or historical friendships. Yes, he certainly is all about CHANGE! And, we the people, of this great country better HOPE that Isreal's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be understanding today, when he meets with our president! Not to worry, Obama will no doubt utilize his savvy personality, and pretend to mend fences. He will then quickly finish up the meeting because he has packing to do. With certain friendships in almost shambles, the economy still under water, some states destroyed by floods and tornadoes, and gas prices looming.....he is running off to Europe on Sunday, with his first stop in Moneygall, Ireland to visit the town where his great, great, great grandfather grew up. Priorities are priorities.....

Where have the Feminists gone?
Where have the feminists gone? Frankly, little is heard from them these days. Hmmm...perhaps they have learned something about themselves, during these past twenty years or more. As a woman, this is what I think they understand today. 1) Most men are pretty decent, and undeserving of the "hate," spewed their way for far too long. 2) Guess what? Male or female, you can't possibly do it all. Something always gives way. 3) The movement has proved that women can be just as greedy, ruthless, and unforgiving in the workplace, similar to any corporate male. 4) Women got tired of defending their husbands, sons, and their choice to have a career, or run their household. 5) Some women became angry that their male counterpart, did not get the promotion, because the company needed to fill that position with a female. It didn't matter the credentials, only the gender. 6) Beauty pageant participants grew tired of the "cat calls" by the grounded feminists. These women understood the swim suit contest, and willingly, chose to go forward on that walkway. 7) Feminists tend to keep silent when people discuss the atrocities dealt to the females who are under tyrannical rule. 8) Many women differentiated themselves from the feminists, simply because they believed that men and women, were in fact different. They were completely comfortable with that fact. 9) The goal of the feminist doctrine was that women should be free to make choices, and decide their life journey for themselves.
However, with a new found freedom, the likes of pro life women, Republican women, women for abstinence, conservative women, and any other woman who did not complete their agenda, need not apply. Hence, they lost many of us, where once they gained. Personally, as a younger girl, I believed in the ideals of feminism. I strived to do more, be smarter, and have an opportunity. But, when I was a freshman, at a Jesuit University, I quickly learned the meaning of feminism. One female professor changed my view in mere minutes. This teacher quite handidly minimized decent, God fearing women, who never rose, nor had the opportunity to achieve an outside career. During this so called Theology course, I raised my hand, defending my own mother, who this woman behind the desk was belittling....I was given a "C," in the class a few weeks later. Prior to my upright arm, and my pure defensive voice for my good mom, who sacrificed everything to bring me to another level in life, I had an "A" in the class.

What will be said about Herman Cain, and African American Republican hopeful, exploring the candidacy of President 2012?
Herman Cain, the former chairman and CEO of Godfathers Pizza is exploring the idea of running for the presidency in 2012. Mr. Cain has a long list of credentials in business, including chairmanship of the Federal Reserve Bank. Mr Cain is a self made man, whose desire is to maintain the freedom of America which are founding fathers worked tirelessly for. Mr. Cain is African American and Republican. No doubt, like the great African American Republicans who have gone before him, he will be duly over criticized and torn apart by the media and the Democrat party. I will remind you, that the Democrats purport to be open minded and diverse. Think back for a moment...Colin Powell, the first African American man to become Secretary of State, under George H. Bush, a four star general in the United States Military, along with a long list of credentials, was never given accolades by the media or the Democrat party until he endorsed President Obama. Condoleeza Rice, the first African American female to be honored with the office of Secretary of State, under George W. Bush received little recognition for her acheivements either. Justice Clarence Thomas had to fight his was to the Supreme Court after accusations of sexual harrassment. The media dug deep, and the Democrats were right behind them, willing to tear this good man to shreds. Somehow, President Obama, African American, did not have to endure any criticism. Of course, any party will go after the candidate of the opposing party. But, I find it interesting that the Democrats claim that they are the largest team of proponents for minorities, and yet will glady take to task, any individual with minority status who does not adhere to their agenda. When legimate questions were raised about candidate Obama, the media and the Democrats alike, screamed....."racism." I wonder what will be said when Herman Cain is attacked? As history will prove with previous African American Republicans, he will be thrown to the wolves.
